My Working Philosophy
Step: 1 Strategy & Business Understanding
Objective: Understand the client’s goals, KPIs, and business context. 📍 Step 1.1: Stakeholder Discovery Conduct meetings with stakeholders (marketing, sales, devs). Understand the business model (eCommerce, SaaS, lead-gen, etc.). 📍 Step 1.2: Define KPIs & Conversion Events Identify macro & micro conversions (e.g., purchases, form fills, scroll depth). Prioritize conversions by funnel stage (awareness → decision). 📍 Step 1.3: Audit Existing Tracking (if applicable) Evaluate current GTM container, GA4 setup, pixels. Identify gaps, redundancy, or misfires in tracking setup.
Step 2: Technical Integration Setup
Objective: Build the infrastructure for tracking across platforms. 🔧 Step 2.1: Connect GTM to Website Deploy GTM container on all pages (via CMS or dev team). Confirm GTM loads correctly using GTM Debug Console. 🔧 Step 2.2: Integrate Tracking Platforms in GTM GA4: Install GA4 configuration tag. Meta Pixel: Add Meta Pixel base code and event tags. Google Ads: Add conversion linker and Google Ads conversion tags. Ensure consent management integration (if required by GDPR/CCPA). 🔧 Step 2.3: Server-Side Tagging (Optional but Recommended) Set up GTM Server container (on Google Cloud or custom server). Route Meta, GA4, and Google Ads events through server-side tagging. Reduce ad blockers' impact and improve data accuracy.
